Singers / Vocalists

Merci d’avance.

Dear Singers ( women and men )

I’m writing the following from my experience.

Having a good voice is not always enough, you need to know how to use it!
If we have the pleasure of accompanying you in the jam session, we might also need your help.
But please respect the musicians with whom you are going to play.
Have the attitude of a musician.
The minimum is that you know the lyrics by heart.
Secondly, you need to know in which key (your key) you wish to sing.
If you have a perfect pitch – fantastic! (I don’t)
If you don’t – be sure to ask the guitarist or the pianist for the first note of the song.
Thirdly, you need to know and tell the band what the tempo of the tune is:
Ballad? Bossa? Swing? Waltz?
You are not the only one in the world … we are playing together.
Before going back to the head of the song, be sure that everyone in the band had a chance to take a solo (Bass too) 🙂
All these points put together will allow for a great piece of music.
After all that is why we are all here.

Thank’s a lot
